Delusional: Believes there is a superhero by the name of Doc Acid which is the protagonist in his dime novels.
He was the son of slaves who ran north to become free. He grew up in Washington D.C. with his parents and older sister where as a boy he was raised to value education as the only way to better himself. He was always naturally inquisitive and enjoyed solving various mysteries which often result in trouble for the young “book learned nigreo.”
As a young man his intelligence and studying paid off as he was permitted to study at Georgetown University in the college of science and engineering where he excelled in chemistry. However, working on his masters degree, Mr. Watley began it have dreams of scientific breakthroughs than few of his professors could understand. He was aksed to transfer to Deseret University to finish his Phd.
Shortly after finishing his doctorate, Isaiah received a telegraph that his sister when missing trying to surprise him on his graduation day. She was last time her parents her from her she was traveling on a Bayou Vermillion train through New Mexico headinf to Tombstone. He quickly put together what money he could and made his way to New Mexico to try and find her.
He spent months looking for her will no luck. He did become entangled with a gang of sky pirates operating out of the mountains called the Black Buzzards where he used his new sciences skills to fight back. However, he was still far too green and couldn’t convince others to have the heroism to strike back. That was when he created the dime novel character Doc Acid. Where Isaiah Reginald Watley was a novice black mad scientist, Doc Acid to be a black clad avenger of science that would teach the world of both heroism and the value of science.
Dr. Watley decided to co-opt other daring stories throughout the west to bolster his own characters amazing deeds and give credit to the character’s actual existence.
